Daniel J. Patterson, DO, FACOS
A native of East Aurora, New York, Dr. Patterson is a graduate of Canisius College. In 1999, he received his DO degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. His postdoctoral surgical training was completed at the Michigan State University Affiliated Garden City Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
There are only two kinds of physicians qualified to be licensed for unlimited practice of medicine in all 50 states: those holding the MD degree, and those have earned the D.O. – Doctor of Osteopathy
Osteopathic physicians perform surgery and prescribe medicine across the nation. Whether they are family doctors or specialists, D.O.’s use all the tools of modern medicine and more. They help their patients develop attitudes and lifestyles that don’t just fight illness, but prevent it. They give special attention to how the body’s nerves, muscles, bones, and organs work together to influence health. Those extra touches distinguish the D.O.’s whole-person philosophy of medicine. It’s a century-old tradition of caring for people, not just treating symptoms.
Dr. Patterson joined STSA in 2004 and Board Certified in 2007. He performs a broad range of general surgical procedures including minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery (gallbladder, appendix, ventral hernia, colon, etc.),breast cancer surgery, and has a special interest in VNUS Closure for varicose veins.
